Copilot Icon Greyed Out in Outlook

Transcript

Have you ever experienced this? You are super excited to start working with Copilot in Outlook, but when you open up your email, the Copilot icon is grayed out. Even worse, we don't have access to any of Copilot's features. Now, before you pick up the phone to your IT department. Check this first. If you're working in classic Outlook, make sure that you are actually clicked on the account or in the inbox of the account.

This is attached to your Copilot license. If you have multiple mailboxes added, it might just be that you're clicked in the wrong one. As soon as you do click on the right one, you should find that the Copilot icon activates. If you're working in new Outlook and the Copilot icon is grayed out, there is one other step that you can check.

If we go up to the home ribbon across to the copilot icon, you can see mine is currently grayed out. Click the lower half. Notice that we have a turn on Copilot option. When we click on this, it's going to open up settings and you need to make sure that you have turn on Copilot toggled on. As soon as you click save, you should then find your Copilot icon is now active and we can start using Copilot to help us manage our emails.

Accessible alternatives

To ensure that everyone has a great learning experience, all the learning and activities are accessible or, where required, are supported by accessible alternatives.
