Ask Questions with Copilot in Outlook

Transcript

Have you ever wished your inbox could talk back with real answers? Well, with Copilot in Outlook 365, it practically does. Whether you are buried in emails or trying to find that one message from weeks ago, Copilot is your AI sidekick, but you just need to ask it the right questions. For example, I could ask Copilot to summarise a long document for me into key points and takeaways, saving me a whole bunch of time.

Or maybe I want Copilot to give me some tips on how to write the perfect sales pitch email. Or maybe I simply want Copilot to tell me the weather forecast for Edinburgh this week so I know if I need to bring my winter hat or my sunglasses. The possibilities really are endless. So start having a chat with Copilot and work a little bit smarter so you can spend less time digging around and more time doing.

Our aim is to ensure that everyone has an excellent learning experience. With this in mind, here are some tools which might help you to achieve this:

Using the NVDA or JAWS screen reader for learners with vision loss.

Using Texthelp Read & Write for learners with dyslexia or other reading difficulties.

Please note that all downloads and links in the module will open in a new tab.

Accessible alternatives

To ensure that everyone has a great learning experience, all the learning and activities are accessible or, where required, are supported by accessible alternatives.

  • Instead of wasting time digging through emails, rewriting messages, or Googling things on the side, Copilot can do it all.
    • Summarise a long email or document
“Summarise this email into key points and action items.”
    • Help write a better message
“Give me tips on writing a sales pitch for a new product launch.”
    • Even ask non-email-related questions
“What’s the weather forecast for Edinburgh this week?”
  • Ask Smart Questions
    • Be specific: Mention the content or email you want Copilot to work on.
    • State your goal: e.g., Summarise, rephrase, find, recommend, etc.
    • The more details you give, the better the result
